What is App Hider?
App Hider is a new way to protect your Android apps. It allows you to completely hide any app in a secure password protected safe area, to prevent unwanted access
How do I access the safe area?
App Hider provides a dummy app that acts as a portal to your safe area. By default the app is called Stocks, however you can change the name and icon if you wish. Simply launch the dummy app, and enter your password in the search field, hit the search button and your safe area will be unlocked
How do I hide an app?
Launch the 'fake' app portal (Stocks by default), enter your password, press search.
You are now in the protected area.
To hide an app simply hold down on the app icon you want to hide and then select 'hide' from the popup menu
How do I unhide an app?
Launch the 'fake' app portal (Stocks by default), enter your password, press search.
You are now in the protected area.
To unhide an app simply hold down on the app icon you want to show and then select 'show' from the popup menu
I can still see which apps I have installed via Settings or the Android Market?
App Hider offers the option to hide the Settings option from the menu, and both the Android Market and Settings app icons. This way you can only acces these from within the protected area.
PLEASE NOTE - MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR PASSWORD AND MEMORABLE QUESTION/ANSWER BEFORE DOING THIS. IF YOU LOSE THEM YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO REACH IMPORTANT PHONE SETTINGS!
I've forgotten my password! Help!?
If you have forgotten your password you can access the password reset option by entering your password incorrectly 10 times in the 'fake' app portal ie. the Stocks app
Once you've entered your password enough times you'll be asked your memorable question that your setup when you installed the app.
Passwords and memorable questions/answers are never submitted to the web, if you can't remember the answer to the memorable question we are not able to tell you what they were.
The only option available is to try to uninstall App Hider via the Android Market or via Android Settings.
